Clean Up Wharf Road Project

Posted on Sep 20, 2010 in Past Projects

The Kiwanis Club of Vanuatu is leading a project to clean and improve the Wharf Road area consisting of the upgrading of the 4 shaded seating areas on the roadside facing Port Vila Bay which had fallen into disrepair and repair and replacement of signage in the area.

Once this work is completed they will organize a Saturday morning with the Municipality’s truck & clean up rubbish on the road with everyone’s help.

The estimated cost for all of the above is 1,000,000 Vatu which Kiwanis hope to raise from tourist orientated businesses in & around Port Vila.

The Kiwanis have had a very positive response from SKAL members & their guests to Kiwanis request for funding this project & seek further assistance from the community to raise the additional funds.

When work is completed they hope to have photos taken at the project site with Kiwanis, SKAL, Vanuatu Tourism Office & as many sponsors as possible to show what can happen here with the combined help of community interested people.

Kiwanis is very much a “Hands On” club & we take a lot of pride in projects that help the community especially looking to the needs of children with health & education.
